ALAN DRISCOLE
Director EDUCATION MSc Petroleum Geology (1981) - Imperial College BSc Geology Hons (1980) - University College London PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS Fellow, Geological Society of London Member, Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain Member, American Association of Petroleum Geologists KEY QUALIFICATIONS With over twenty five years experience in many facets of exploration and development geology, Alan Driscole has undertaken work for more than a dozen companies and other organisations, with projects ranging from basin analysis to acreage evaluations and prospect generation and detailed analysis of reservoirs and reservoir performance in producing fields. Alan joined Gulf Oil in London in 1981, initially working on Ireland, the Netherlands and Germany before moving to Dublin to work on Gulf’s Celtic Sea acreage in 1984. Following a return to London in 1986 he left Chevron in 1990 to work as an independent geological consultant initially working mainly on international exploration projects. From this time he has worked in or on approximately twenty countries, focusing on the UKCS, North West and Eastern Europe and the countries of the former Soviet Union, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Ukraine, Georgia, Russia and Turkmenistan. In this time Alan has built up an extensive knowledge of the petroleum geology of these areas. Alan has worked with Exploration Geosciences since the establishment of the company in 1990, being heavily involved with most of the projects and reports prepared by EGL from this time. RECENT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 2008: Exploration Geosciences Ltd - Director 1989 to 2008: Independent consultant Working for several clients including Chevron (UK and Ireland), Amerada Hess (UK and west Africa) and Ramco (Azerbaijan and other FSU countries / eastern Europe) as well as non-exclusive and proprietary projects with Exploration Geosciences. 1986 to 1989: Chevron Exploration North Sea Ltd, London Senior geologist working principally on regional play development; mainly Jurassic, Cretaceous and Tertiary plays of the Central and Northern North Sea. 1984 to 1986: Gulf Oil (Ireland) Ltd, Dublin Regional basin evaluations and prospect development on Gulf’s Celtic Sea licences. Well site work. Evaluation of other Irish basins. 1981 to 1984: Gulf Oil Eastern Hemisphere, London Working in the new ventures group on licence applications and Gulf licences in Ireland, the Netherlands and Germany. |
