Mark Groves Gidney
Mark Groves Gidney is a geologist with over twenty years experience in international petroleum exploration. His career began with Cities Service/Occidental and since then he has held supervisory positions with operating oil companies, worked as an independent consultant for oil companies, merchant banks and private investors, and co-authored major proprietary and non-exclusive exploration reports. His technical expertise ranges from prospect generation to regional basin analysis but he also has considerable experience of the commercial aspects of exploration and production company operations, including asset evaluation. Together with Dr Peter Smith, Mark Groves Gidney formed Exploration Geosciences in 1990 and currently the Company is engaged in co-operative projects in the UK, Alaska, Canada and Africa. Full CV Paul Bathurst Paul Bathurst is an explorationist with over thirty years technical and managerial experience in international petroleum exploration and production. Formerly Business Development Manager for Det Norske Oljeselskap (DNO), an independent Norwegian Oil Company, he has directed both the commercial and technical aspects of joint venture projects world-wide. Although his technical experience encompasses the spectrum of exploration activity from basin analysis to prospect generation and development geology, his interest and expertise is directed more towards the commercial aspects of asset evaluation and business development together with the management of multi-staffed projects. Full CV Alan Edwards Alan Edwards has over thirty five years of experience in the upstream hydrocarbon industry and has a proven track record in developing and cost effectively managing, major projects. This experience was gained within both contracting and oil companies, and involved direct negotiations with governments, oil companies and the World Bank. His main expertise is in international exploration geophysics but he has broad experience in exploration and production geology. He has particular knowledge of the coastal basins of Africa, on which he has published, and he initiated the first regional multi-country well tie survey offshore West Africa. Full CV Mark Sawyers Mark Sawyers is a geophysicist who has spent over twenty five years in the UK and international E & P business. His career includes time at Hunting, Phillips, Conoco, Sun, Brabant (EDC) and, until 2002, Enterprise Oil, where he ran UK exploration new ventures. He has wide ranging geophysical experience covering everything from onshore survey planning to 3D development geophysics - he has been a regular workstation user since 1987. Additional interests include database design, knowledge management and facilitation (having spent a year in Enterprise's KM department). In 2000, Mark chaired UKOOA's Exploration Committee and carried out research for the UK government/industry task force, PILOT. Full CV Alan Driscole With over twenty five years experience in many facets of exploration and development geology, Alan Driscole has undertaken work for more than a dozen companies and other organisations, with projects ranging from basin analysis to acreage evaluations and prospect generation and detailed analysis of reservoirs and reservoir performance in producing fields. Alan has worked with Exploration Geosciences since the establishment of the company in 1990, being heavily involved with most of the projects and reports prepared by EGL from this time. Full CV |
