KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Paul Bathurst is an explorationist with over thirty years technical and managerial experience in international petroleum exploration and production. Formerly Business Development Manager for Det Norske Oljeselskap (DNO), an independent Norwegian Oil Company, he has directed both the commercial and technical aspects of joint venture projects world-wide. Although his technical experience encompasses the spectrum of exploration activity from basin analysis to prospect generation and development geology, his interest and expertise is directed more towards the commercial aspects of asset evaluation and business development together with the management of multi-staffed projects.

RECENT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

1992 to date: Exploration Geosciences Ltd
Director specializing in the management and evaluation of exploration projects. Initiated and managed the preparation of reports covering Timan Pechora, Pre-Caspian and Azov Sea within the CIS. Elsewhere has co-authored reports in Canada and the USA. He was recently involved in large projects in Africa with Western Geophysical and he has also had an interest in the generation of Activity Maps of the Norwegian offshore and West Canadian Basin. Currently he is the project manager of a three year project to produce an atlas describing the petroleum geology of the North Sea oil basin. This work is being undertaken on behalf of the Millennium Atlas Co. and involves liaison with more than 50 authors and companies and in the editing, printing and publishing of the product. He is also a director of UK Discovery Ltd which together with the UK Dept. of Trade and Industry and Exploration Geosciences produce a bi-annual digest on exploration activity across the entire UK continental shelf. Currently managing the interpretation, and production of an associated geological atlas, of seismic data in the Gulf of Oman.

1990 to 1992: General Manager, DNO (UK) Ltd
Set up and managed on a day to day basis the Company's London office. Organised the sale of much of the company's UK North Sea assets.

1984 to 1992: Business Development Manager, DNO
Initially as Senior Geologist and later Business Development Manager of this independent Norwegian oil company, he was engaged in international licence applications and prospect evaluation (Egypt, Bulgaria, Holland, United Kingdom, Norway, USA), company and asset evaluations resulting in a number of acquisitions, economic assessment of proven oil fields, and supervision of company staff.

1982 to 1984: Senior Geologist, Superior Oil (UK) Ltd
As Senior Geologist he was responsible for various joint venture activities in the Central Graben and instrumental in prospect generation, successful well recommendations and initiation of farm-in proposals. Undertook well site work in the North Sea.

1981-1982: Geologist, Ultramar
Regional geological study of Inner Moray Firth, independent mapping and geology of licences in Egypt, Celtic Sea, Porcupine Basin and Onshore UK. Supervised licence applications.

1977-1981: Geologist, Amoco
Geologist with Amoco working in both the Norwegian and UK sectors of the North Sea. Generated new prospects leading to oil discoveries, was instrumental in negotiations of a higher participation for the company in the Tor Field unitization process and mapped the Valhall Field structure prior to full field development.
